You know who you are!

(The signs say: “Employees must wash hands,” and “Non-employees really ought to wash their hands, too.”

This article in Reuters is what made me think of this old cartoon. And all I can say is, yuck!

(Funny how I got tired of kissing people on both cheeks in France and decided I’d only shake hands! Now I think I’ll simply salute people.)

I heard about something they’re doing in Canada, based on those same statistics. In order to encourage people to wash their hands, in the men’s room in let’s say a restaurant (I don’t know if they would do it for the ladies’ room), they put this life-sized photograph of a man dressed in a suit and tie on the door, positioned such that the doorknob emerged from the man’s … zipper. Then, next to the doorknob, there’s a little sign that says, “92% of people say they wash their hands. Only 77% of them actually do.” Basically they’re trying to gross the patron out, make him not want to touch the doorknob. Hehe. I imagine you would approve!
