Oh, they're doing sneakers and ballerinas as well at Papillio's.
But somehow the detailed view doesn't seem to work with Opera. I just get an empty table.

Oh! And Papillio, which seems to be a branch of Birkenstock, does a higher heel with the same kind of sole. Only it's pretty hit or miss as far as the styles go! They had one nice style this year, but it seems the coming season is very fuddy-duddy librarian style. :( Once nice pair of boots, though, in the Eden collection.

Oops! Well, that's what the guy in the shoe store told me!
I didn't mean to imply anyone had huge feet! :)

The Gizeh ones are ok, yup. Except you hardly ever see them in a shop over here.

Oh, and regular width is - from what you say - apparently not only for men but also for women with not-so-narrow feet like me.

I can hardly ever find sandals in my size that I can squash my feet into. Two sizes bigger will *maybe* work, but then of course it'll look crap.

Well most of them are pretty fugly! I only wear the t-strap ones called "gizeh," which I think are pretty cool looking and make one's feet look cute.

I have bought the Bostons, (the classic), but almost made the probably typical mistake of buying them in a regular width. Most people don't know they're supposed to buy the narrow width in that model, if they're a woman! The regular width is for men! I think they can look cool depending what you wear them with. I like to wear them the way cool men wear sandals with business suits. I think that's a neat look.

I wonder if they could make a slightly higher heeled Birkenstock, with the same orthopedic moulded cork sole? That would be cool! I'd totally buy those!

And I must confess I do not own a single pair. I find most of them just dead ugly...

Might change my mind if your collection comes out, though.

Actually, I did contact them! Ha ha! Let's see what they say.

As for "comfy but cool" winter stuff here in the US, I haven't found a thing! And really, the Birkenstock sole is amazing! I could stand all day!

Why don't you just contact them and ask them if they would do a winter collection with your designs? ;-)

I mean, Heidi Klum has her collection @Birkenstock, so why shouldn't you...?!

For Heidi's collection see
http://www.birkenstock.de/birkenstock/index_1280.html

I think you could easily top that...

Oh, and aren't there any "comfy but cool" brands around in the US that also do winter models?
